What is exercise bands?
Exercise bands are stretchy latex or latex-free bands used for your home exercises. The color tells you how strong the band is.
How does it help?
They add gentle resistance so your muscles get stronger as you heal, without heavy weights.
How should it feel?
Steady tension as you move. You move slowly in both directions and never let the band snap back.
How do you use and care for it?
Anchor the band in a closed door on the hinge side, or under your foot. Check it for nicks or sticky spots before each use and throw it away if you find any. Keep it out of sunlight and away from heat. Stop and call if you get itching, a rash or hives where it touches you.
When should you call us?
- Tell us if you have a latex allergy; we give you a latex-free band
How long does it take?
Use only for the exercises your physician checked.
We fit every item to you, show you how to put it on, use it and take it off, and give you written instructions. You show us you can do it before you go home. Call (314) 887-5866 if it hurts, does not fit or breaks.
What to remember
- Move slowly both ways; never let it snap back.
- Check it for nicks before each use.
- Anchor it on the hinge side of a closed door.
Show us you have it: Show us one exercise with the band before you go home. We go over it again at your next visit, and you can ask us to explain anything a second time.
