A back brace wraps around your lower back and belly, with a firmer panel in the back. We size it to you and adjust it so it fits right. It supports your low back while it heals, especially when you sit, stand for long periods or lift.
What is back brace?
A back brace wraps around your lower back and belly, with a firmer panel in the back. We size it to you and adjust it so it fits right.
How does it help?
It supports your low back while it heals, especially when you sit, stand for long periods or lift.
How should it feel?
Snug but not tight. You should be able to breathe deeply and slide two fingers under the edge.
How do you use and care for it?
Wear it over a thin, snug shirt, not on bare skin. Take it off to shower and to sleep unless your physician says otherwise. Check your skin morning and night. Keep doing your home exercises; the brace supports you but does not replace them.
When should you call us?
- Tell us if you get new numbness or tingling in your legs, sores or blisters, or trouble breathing with it on
How long does it take?
Wear it as your physician ordered.
We fit every item to you, show you how to put it on, use it and take it off, and give you written instructions. You show us you can do it before you go home. Call (314) 887-5866 if it hurts, does not fit or breaks.
What to remember
- Snug, not tight: two fingers fit under the edge.
- Wear it over a thin shirt, not bare skin.
- Keep doing your home exercises.
Show us you have it: Show us how you put it on and take it off. We go over it again at your next visit, and you can ask us to explain anything a second time.
