What is wrist brace?
A wrist brace holds your wrist slightly bent back, with a firm support along the top or palm side. We size it to your wrist.
How does it help?
It rests an injured or strained wrist in a safe position and can ease numbness and tingling in the hand at night.
How should it feel?
Firm but comfortable. Your fingers and thumb can still move freely.
How do you use and care for it?
Keep your fingers and thumb moving while you wear it. Take it off to wash and check your skin each day.
When should you call us?
- Call if your fingers turn cold, blue, numb or swollen, or if the brace rubs a sore
How long does it take?
Most people wear it at night and during activities that bother the wrist, as your physician ordered.
We fit every item to you, show you how to put it on, use it and take it off, and give you written instructions. You show us you can do it before you go home. Call (314) 887-5866 if it hurts, does not fit or breaks.
What to remember
- Fingers and thumb keep moving.
- Check your skin every day.
- Cold, blue or numb fingers means call.
Show us you have it: Show us how you put it on and adjust it. We go over it again at your next visit, and you can ask us to explain anything a second time.
