Kinetisense 3D Motion Test · St. Louis

Kinetisense

Kinetisense uses a 3D camera to measure how you move, bend and balance. There are no wires or markers on your body. It turns “it hurts to move” into numbers: how far you can bend, turn and reach, and how steady you are.

Your physician orders this test. You only get it if it is ordered for you.

What is Kinetisense?

Kinetisense uses a 3D camera to measure how you move, bend and balance. There are no wires or markers on your body.

How does it help?

It turns “it hurts to move” into numbers: how far you can bend, turn and reach, and how steady you are. Repeating it shows real progress.

What does it feel like?

You stand in front of a camera and follow simple instructions, like bending, turning or standing on one leg. Nothing touches you.

How do you get ready?

Wear fitted clothes you can move in.

What should you tell us first?

  • Tell us if you cannot stand safely without support; the test is changed to fit you

How long does it take?

About 15 to 20 minutes.

What to remember

  1. It turns how you move into numbers.
  2. Wear clothes you can move in.
  3. Repeating it shows real progress.

Show us you have it: Tell us which movements felt hardest. We go over it again at your next visit, and you can ask us to explain anything a second time.
