Cognivue Memory and Thinking Test · St. Louis

Cognivue

Cognivue is a computer check of memory and thinking. You sit at a screen and respond to simple tasks. After a head injury, memory, focus and reaction time can slip in ways a regular scan does not show.

Your physician orders this test. You only get it if it is ordered for you.

What is Cognivue?

Cognivue is a computer check of memory and thinking. You sit at a screen and respond to simple tasks.

How does it help?

After a head injury, memory, focus and reaction time can slip in ways a regular scan does not show. Cognivue measures them, so changes can be tracked over time.

What does it feel like?

Like a simple computer game. There are no wrong ways to feel during it, and nothing touches you.

How do you get ready?

Bring your reading glasses. Get a good night’s sleep before if you can.

What should you tell us first?

  • Tell us if you need glasses for the screen or have trouble using a computer mouse

How long does it take?

About 10 minutes.

What to remember

  1. It measures memory, focus and reaction time.
  2. Bring your reading glasses.
  3. Repeating it shows change over time.

Show us you have it: Tell us if anything about the screen was hard to see or use. We go over it again at your next visit, and you can ask us to explain anything a second time.

Other tests in the program

This is part of our physician-directed physiotherapy program, where a physician orders and supervises every treatment and no treatment starts unless a physician is available right away.
